The Basics

Basic Woodshop for Beginners

4 hour class. Class size is limited to four students and covers project layout, safe operation of both machine and hand tools, identifying and selecting wood stock, and coaching for techniques in joinery. Woodshop for Women

4 hour class. This class was developed in response to a number of requests from women who felt that they might be more comfortable in a setting where there was no perceived “macho” environment. Advanced Woodshop Techniques

8 hour class. Although it is usually a full day event, we occasionally break it into two days. Each day consists of one 4 hour session. Class size is limited to three students and covers the set up, tuning, and safe operation of stationary woodshop machines. Contact us today.

Drawer Construction

8 hour class. It is a full day event with a break for lunch. Class size is limited to four students and covers layout, sizing, and joinery techniques. Each student will build a machine dovetailed drawer assembled in the classic tradition.  Contact us today.

Jigs & Fixtures

4 hour class. Those of us who are experienced in working with stationary power tools know that for a variety of joinery and for many cuts, a jig or fixture is a safety measure. These “extra hands” can also be a simple method to accomplish repeatable cuts and joints.

Class size is limited to four students and covers project layout and safe operation of machine tools. Each student will learn how to use and for which applications various jigs and fixtures are best incorporated.

8 hour class. It is a full day event with a break for lunch. Class size is limited to four students and covers layout, sizing, and joinery explanations. Each student will construct a mortise and tenon joint using both machine tools and hand tools.

8 hour class. The art of making raised panels is simply performing three routing operations to create the three elements that make up the project.  It is a full day event with a break for lunch.
